I promissed news. Here I am. Agrotourism in Pelion is little known and the environmental approach to is beauty is mostly unknown, so my friends and I decided to offer you something different. The chance to rest your body and soul and leave you with wonderful memories, recharging your batteries untill your return. The set programms we are offering can be diversified. You may choose an introduction in drawing and painting, walkes on unique routes or participate in agricultural activities.
GET in touch for more information TOURISTICAL PROGRAM OF ECOACTIVITIES IN PORTARIA AND SURROUNDINGS DAY ONE – WELCOME TO PORTARIA, BOOK-INTO HOTEL, LIGHT LUNCH, WALK AROUND VILLAGE GET TO KNOW PORTARIA’ ITS HISTORY AND CULTURE, DINNER ACCOMPANIED BY GREEK MUSIC. DAY T WO - GET TO KNOW THE LANDSCAPE AND THE TREES After breakfast in your hotel, you will walk to Katichori. There, Angelos or Popi, ecologists and environmentalists, will take you though the cobbled roads and lanes to the gorge of Katichori and back, calling in at Eleni’s for coffee and chat. Lunch at Floricas Free time until 5.30 when we will meet again to chat about the days experiences. Dinner at Floricas DAY THREE –GET TO KNOW THE HERBS AND GREENS Ah, our Angelos, he will astound you with his knowledge of the herbs and greens of the area, including mythology and history. You can collect specimens (within reason please). Would you like to start a scrap book? In the afternoon, we will show you how to cook some of the greens, and we will taste herbal teas and talk about their use in our every day life DAY FOUR- GET TO KNOW THE FLOWERS WILD OR CULTIVATED OF PILION according to the season Or ECO-CULTIIVATION The flowers of Pilion play a very important role in the everyday life. Every garden has its own flowers to give health and beauty to our lives. Do you know how many flowers can be used in salads? Do you know how many flowers are used in medicines? Do you know which flowers are helping other flowers to survive. We will visit Elli and Popi’s gardens and in the evening we will make a delicious salad at Floricas. An other option would be to put on your gardening gear and work! Weeding, pruning, sowing seeds, planting and season permitting collect vegetables and olives. DAY FIVE – MUSEUM DAY A visi to Makrinitsa folk museum is a must as well as a walk through the cobbled streets. The historical Museum of Portaria with its small but important collection related to the Greeks who lived and prospered in Egypt, follows. In the afternoon you will visit the Olive Museum –an old olive factory- in Katichori followed by a visit to Katy’s tavern to taste local olives and homemade bread. In the evening we will meet at Floricas in Portaria for our meal. What would you say to a photo competition? To round off the last evening we will talk drink and sing before saying our farewells.
